On Fear and Loneliness

As a child I saw a monster crawling under my bed. And that was the moment I felt truly alone for the first time. And I realized there is a weird connection between fear and loneliness.

Fast forward a few years, I was living alone in a new city, spending countless nights browsing the web in the dark, surrounded by modem sounds, when I noticed that the monster under the bed had died a long time ago. So then and there I knew that if you befriend solitude, the fear monster dies alone.
